Author Interview - EDEN BAYLEE

Today we're happy to have author Eden Baylee on the blog to answer some questions!

 TWENTY QUESTIONS

How long have you been writing? Since I was a teen, but I’ve been a full-time author since 2011.

Do you ever feel like one of your characters is you? Always! It’s difficult not to insinuate a bit of myself into my characters.

How many hours’ sleep do you get each night? It varies. I can subsist on five, but I know it’s not enough. I aim for seven, but probably sleep six on a good night. Name one day job you’ve had. Fraud consultant. It’s what I did before writing.

Do you write every day? Yes. It’s a must, like breathing.

What’s your usual writing snack? At the moment, green tea and mint leaves.

How many hours a day do you write? About four to five, sometimes more.

Do you have a new story idea in your mind right now? Yes, I’m working on the 2nd and 3rd installment of my trilogy following Stranger at Sunset.

Do you ever write two books at once? Haha! See answer above.

If you had a superpower, what would it be? To speak every language. I love words, and to communicate with all citizens of the world in their own language would be amazing.

Name one song that reminds you of your book. With reference to Stranger at Sunset, I had a whole soundtrack that accompanied the book. It took place in Jamaica, and some of the characters were musicians, so it wasn’t difficult. As for one song, “No Woman, No Cry” by Bob Marley is a good one.

About how many books do you read each month? Two, if I’m lucky. I can’t concentrate to read for long when I’m in a writing mode.

What’s your favorite movie? I don’t have just one favorite, but some I really enjoyed are : Citizen Kane Psycho The Exorcist Secrets and Lies The Graduate

Name one thing on your bucket list. To return to Asia for an extended trip.

Flowers or chocolates? Flowers.

Name an author you’d love to have coffee with. Charles Bukowski. He’s dead now, and I’m sure he’d prefer scotch anyway—as would I.

The most words you’ve written in a day. I don’t recall exactly, but it was close to 4000.

What's your favorite fruit? Ataulfo mango.

In what room do you do most of your writing? I move between standing at the kitchen counter and sitting in the dining room.

Who is your celebrity crush? Not a crush, more admiration … the Dalai Lama. Many thanks, Fiction Conviction, for the interview! I really appreciate it. ~eden
